inspired by the magnificence of birds sitting on a tree, valco & joco designs ‘the bird lamp’, an LED spotlight with a minimalist approach constructed solely from metal pipes. the designers enjoy reducing materials and forms to the absolute minimum required, so they designed the lamp in a unique way that creates less waste in the manufacturing process.

the aluminum stand is adjustable, allowing you to select the height and angle you desire. washing its warm white light on surfaces for a soft ambiance, it will transform any living room or hallway into something a little calmer and more refined. the dimmer is available in either a switch or a hands-free version, adding a whole other layer of control to the user’s experience.

the mood of a room changes depending on its lighting and the right lamp can soothe you into a nap or slow you down so that you can enjoy each moment as it comes. val stabyanko and jochen meyer tried to replicate the effect of ‘the kind murmur of a bird’s wings flapping in the early morning’ to generate a quiet and calm atmosphere. for ‘the bird lamp’, the designers chose to use incandescent light temperature of 3000k, a light color that is generally warm white and ideal for relaxation. they believe that a person’s mood tends to be the best at this temperature, making this lamp the most appropriate for living, dining and bedroom areas.
