Second Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Our weapons are spiritual weapons through God, and they will tear down the strongholds within our lives, and they will allow us to bring our thoughts into captivity. But, first, we need spiritual recognition, and you begin to acquire this spiritual recognition as you begin to diligently study the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 KJV says, “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The word of God will train you as to the discerning of these thoughts. When you get proficient, you will walk in victory; you will be spiritually mature.
Every Christian has a need for the spiritual nourishment that only the word of God can provide, but the deeper mysteries are for those who are spiritually mature and avid seekers of the truth. Hebrews 5:14 KJV says, “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
Satan is relentless in his attempts to barrage us with thoughts that are not conducive to our Christian walk, however, if we know the word of God and apply it to our lives, we can bring our thoughts into captivity.
