Families looking for something to do with the kids can try out this Practical Recycling Project Kit.
Through short online videos, they teach you how to take every day recyclable items around the home and turn them into something useful.
In fact, it’s sure to be popular with adults too. Some of the projects include making a bird feeder, candle, or even a bee’s nest.
Registration ends on Friday (click here to register at missaukeecd.org). The Missaukee Conservation District and 4-H Club will be mailing the kits to families at the end of the month.
Education Coordinator Andrea Mayer says, “We want to teach about recycling and try to get families and their kids to connect with how important recycling is by doing a fun project. Also, learning what recycling is and how it can be done.”
