Two Wilson’s phalaropes were photographed in flight at the setbacks on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on May 8, and a common tern was seen there on the 4th and 5th.
A cattle egret was seen at the setbacks on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on May 5, and two glossy ibis were seen there on the 8th. Two glossy ibis were seen along River Road in Walpole on May 7, and two black-crowned night-herons were seen along Airport Road in Swanzey on May 8.
A Caspian tern was seen at Spofford Lake in Chesterfield on May 9.
A glaucous gull continues at Hampton Harbor and was last reported on May 8.
A male Barrow’s goldeneye continues to be seen on the Androscoggin River in Errol and was last reported on May 7.
Two greater scaup, three lesser scaup, and two ring-necked ducks were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on May 9. There is no vehicle access permitted, park in the parking lot and walk in only.
A flock of brant was reported flying over Center Harbor on May 7.
A sandhill crane was seen at Long Look Farm in Sullivan on May 10.
A golden eagle was seen flying over Exeter on May 3, and one was reported flying over Bethlehem on May 7.
A black vulture was seen in Mont Vernon on May 9.
A hooded warbler was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on May 4.
A summer tanager was seen in Dover on May 9.
A red-headed woodpecker continues to be seen along Jordan Road in Keene and was last reported on May 4, and a pair continues to be seen at Bear Brook State Park and was last reported on the 8th.
A flock of nine lesser yellowlegs and three greater yellowlegs was seen at an ephemeral pool in a field on Birch Street in Concord on May 6.
Two semipalmated plovers were seen in Rye Harbor on May 8, and an American golden-plover was reported from Rye on the 9th.
A pine grosbeak was seen in Waterville Valley on May 9, and a common redpoll was seen in Milan on May 3.
A white-winged crossbill was reported from Rye on May 9. Recent red crossbill sightings included 13 in Allenstown on May 8; eight in Rye on May 6; seven in Concord on the 6th; and seven in Kingston on the 3rd.
Two grasshopper sparrows were reported from the Cemetery Fields in Amherst on May 8, and two were reported from the Concord Airport on the 9th.
New arrivals reported during the past week included: solitary sandpiper, red-eyed vireo, Eastern wood-peewee, great crested flycatcher. black-billed cuckoo, Blackburnian warbler, Cape May warbler, bay-breasted warbler, American redstart, chestnut-sided warbler, blue-winged warbler, Tennessee warbler, Nashville warbler, Canada warbler, bobolink, and Lincoln’s sparrow.
