Alternative legal service providers are often associated with either being a valued extension of an existing law firm structure or a competitor that is looking to take market share from law firms. The view relating to the latter usually pertains to untethered ALSPs, those which are not associated with a traditional law firm. But that competitive dynamic can also exist internally, experts say.
So, is it better for the ALSP to work with a law firm partner or be free to pursue business untethered?
