Hassan Shamidozhi, the traditional ruler of Bukpe community, Kwali Area Council, Abuja, has regained freedom 18 days after his captivity in the hands of bandits.
DAILY POST recalls that the paramount ruler’s palace was invaded by kidnappers in Bukpe community and he was taken away alongside two residents of the community.
The other two residents, identified as Ahmad Joel and his daughter, Precious Joel also regained freedom from their abductors around 6:12pm on Saturday.
They were said to have paid N2.5 million as ransom before regaining their freedom.
Hassan Shamidozhi explained that his abductors released him, the man and his daughter after leading them to a forest near Zokutu village, where they trekked for hours before appearing along Abaji-Toto road, where they boarded a vehicle home.
He said before his release, his family members, relatives and friends contributed to raise N4 million after intense negotiations.
The PPRO of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not respond to phone calls as of the time of filing this story to confirm the incident.
