The restaurant formerly known as FireBird Fowl will change its name to Fowl & Beverage, or F&B for short, following a legal scuffle.
Reps from the Texas restaurant say a company named Firebirds International, headquartered in North Carolina, issued them a cease and desist letter after their Dallas eatery opened in Uptown in late September. FireBird Fowl is a bird-themed restaurant; Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is an American restaurant.

Dallas restaurateurs Tim Summers and David Taylor decided to temporarily close FireBird Fowl and rebrand the restaurant. They plan to reopen it in about a week under the new name.
The menu and concept at the Dallas restaurant will not change. The newly-named F&B will still go big on bird, selling menu items like ostrich lasagna, emu fajitas, turkey burgers, chicken salad and others.
The tagline remains: The restaurant is a place “where fowl play is encouraged!” says the new website.
It’s not the only trademark disagreement happening among Dallas restaurants. Dallas dessert shop Bisous Bisous is taking legal action against a similarly-named new restaurant, Bisou. They’re on the same street, McKinney Avenue in Uptown, and Bisous Bisous owner Andrea Meyer says guests have gotten confused and have written scathing reviews on the dessert shop’s Google page, thinking it’s the American restaurant. Bisou is being rebranded.
The new Fowl & Beverage (F&B) is at 2816 Fairmount St., Dallas. It opened Sept. 20, 2021, then closed temporarily. It’s expected to reopen under the new name at an unknown date in November 2021.
