ELMHURST, Ill. -- The North Park University cross country programs competed at Eldridge Park Friday night, led by a first-place finish by Patrycja Miazek.
Miazek placed first overall in her first cross country meet ever. She was in second place with half a mile to go and out-kicked the rest of the field to cross the finish line in the lead.
"Overall, I was really proud of how we competed yesterday," said head coach Alex Rosenau. "This was our first meet in two years, so just being able to go back out there was something special. We're laying the foundation for what promises to be some really exciting years ahead for our program. Patti winning the women's race is definitely a testament to the hard work and miles she put in over the summer. We're really excited for her and this program as a whole to continue defining who we are and what we can do as a team."
