TREMPEALEAU COUNTY (WQOW) - Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) was detected in a commercial flock in Trempealeau County. That's according to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP).
According to a press release, birds on the property will be killed. This is the second confirmed case of bird flu in our region this year. The first confirmed case in a flock this year was reported in Taylor County.

The virus is highly contagious and often fatal to domestic poultry.
