A baby giraffe made its first public appearance at the Lingling Animal Kingdom in Xiamen City, east China's Fujian Province on June 24.
This is the first successful breeding of a captive giraffe in Xiamen City. The baby giraffe, 1.8 meters tall, weighing more than 60 kilograms, was born on June 7. Nearly two hours after birth, it stood up and started walking.
Its parents were moved to Xiamen City from South Africa in 2016.
