A Los Angeles retreat perched in the Bird Streets hit the market Monday for a hair under $5 million.
Known as one of West Hollywood’s hippest hoods, the Bird Streets has attracted a flock of famous residents over the years, including Leonardo DiCaprio and late President Ronald Reagan. Built in the 1960s, the residence’s facade is clad in wood and concrete, while inside the whitewashed spaces boast oversized windows and French doors framing views of the grounds and Los Angeles in the distance, according to the listing with Billy Rose of The Agency.
“This home has it all: a prime, coveted Bird Streets location; sparkling city lights; generous room sizes, high ceilings and incredible natural light; pool; theater; hot yoga room,” Rose said.
William Hunt Block, who has been the CEO of Miramax since April 2017, purchased the 4,817-square-foot home in 2012 for $4.2 million, according to records with PropertyShark. His credits include “Halloween” and “District 9.” He declined to comment for this article.
“Bill has done a great job enhancing and enlarging the home, and it will appeal to a broad demographic of buyers,” Rose continued.
The house has an open concept floor plan, combining the living and dining areas and allowing for indoor-outdoor living, according to the listing. The kitchen offers an island, a breakfast bar and casual dining nook, as well as access to a patio.
There are five bedrooms, and the primary suite has a seating area, a bathroom with double sinks and a soaking tub and a walk-in closet, the listing said.
Other features include a media room with heater seating; an attached office with a separate entrance and a freestanding meditation room.
Outside there’s a large yard with several lounge areas and a large pool surrounded by manicured grounds.
